Discovery & Strategy

Clarity Before Commitment

Great websites start long before design. Our discovery and strategy phase covers research, audits and planning that point to the right solution, saving months of development time and steering you clear of expensive do-overs.

What We Deliver

A deep discovery process that turns scattered ideas into a clear, actionable roadmap. You get tangible deliverables and a definitive plan of action before a single line of code is written or design work begins.

Our Discovery Approach

Every strategy phase follows a proven three-step approach: overview research, mapping of the market and defining success metrics. The result of this is an evidence-backed roadmap, ready for build before the creation of the first pixel.

Ask Before We Assume

Through stakeholder interviews, audience research and technical audits, we build a complete, accurate picture of your organisation. Unchecked assumptions are often the most expensive mistake in web development, and we eliminate them before setting a direction.

Map the Full Landscape

We map your competitors, user behaviour, technical requirements and market dynamics to build a complete, real-world picture, ensuring your digital strategy works as effectively in the live market as it does in the boardroom.

Define Measurable Success

We work with your team upfront to set concrete KPIs, acceptance criteria and measurable benchmarks. By defining exactly what success looks like early on, all teams are able to stay within the course until the final result.

Who Is This For

Whether you’re scoping a new platform, evaluating tech stacks or auditing an ageing system, we tailor the process to your starting point. If any of these scenarios sound familiar, this is where we begin.

  1. 01

    Starting a New Project

A great digital concept starts with little to no execution plan. Discovery turns that initial idea into a fully scoped, budget-aligned blueprint you can actually build from.

  2. 02

    Evaluating Platform Options

Torn between WordPress, a custom build or commercial platforms? We provide an impartial technical assessment based entirely on your project needs, whilst considering speed, security and scalability.

  3. 03

    Need a Technology Audit

Is your current platform slow, outdated or difficult to maintain? A technical audit exposes the underlying bottlenecks and delivers a clear, prioritised roadmap outlining exactly what to patch, refactor or rebuild first.

FAQs

Still curious? Unravel the answers, one slice at a time.

  • It is the plan for who your website serves, what they need and what the site must do for your business. We use it to decide which pages, content and features belong in the build. Discovery is included when we build your website.

  • No. Bring your current website, the problems you want to solve and any fixed dates. If you already have a brief, we review it first and work through the missing content, migration and technical details with you.

  • You will have an agreed direction for the build: the audiences and goals, proposed pages and content, and the features or system connections that matter. We also identify what must be retained from the existing website.

  • Include the person leading the project, someone who understands your customers and the person responsible for website content. Bring in IT or other teams when their systems, access or approvals affect the build.

  • Most projects allow 2 to 3 weeks for discovery. More time may be needed when several teams, systems or approval stages are involved. A clear existing brief can shorten the work, but we still check its assumptions.
