Backend Web Developer

• Build and maintain Laravel applications and website backends using Strapi, Drupal and WordPress, including headless CMS setups.
• Structure content, build APIs and connect websites to payment services, forms and customer relationship management systems.
• Deploy websites and manage hosting, Cloudflare, SSL certificates and backups.
• Apply security updates, investigate faults and test fixes before release.
• Work with frontend developers to connect website content and functionality to the approved designs.

At Senior Level

• Plan backend architecture, databases and integrations for larger projects.
• Estimate backend work and guide decisions on hosting, security and deployment.
• Review backend code and mentor developers and interns.

• At least one year of web development experience using PHP or Node.js.
• Hands-on coding experience with at least one of Drupal, WordPress or Strapi.
• Practical experience with Linux hosting, MySQL or PostgreSQL, and Git.
• An existing right to work in Malaysia.
• For senior-level applicants: at least five years of relevant experience, including responsibility for backend delivery, code reviews and mentoring.

• Backing up websites before changing live systems.
• Writing clear documentation that another developer can follow.
• Prioritising security updates and checking their effect on the website.
• Using error logs to investigate problems and sharing useful findings with the team.
• Choosing straightforward, maintainable fixes and testing the result.
